TOTAL E&P CEO gives overview of activities at API meeting!

HOUSTON – TOTAL E&P USA's president and CEO, Rene Chappaz, was the featured speaker at the November luncheon of the Houston Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute.

Dave Roseland, Senior Vice-President of Business Development of Signa Engineering, introduced Chappaz to those in attendance at the Houston Petroleum Club. Chappaz provided an overview of TOTAL's presence and activities worldwide. In 2003, the company produced 2.5 billion boe/day and had proven reserves of 11.4 billion boe.

Roseland, the API Program Chairman, invited Chappaz to speak at the meeting to provide the API group with an overview of TOTAL’s operations in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas and Mississippi. Chappaz also shared some of TOTAL’s perspective on the global operational environment, stressing the importance for the industry to work collectively to continuously improve its reputation.

Chappaz discussed how rising stakeholder expectations are demanding broader strategies, such as those addressed within TOTAL's sustainable development program.

The presentation also included a review of TOTAL E&P USA's contractor management standards and procedures.
